How to quickly pick strawberries?

Strawberry berries are very tasty and pleasant. However, one must be able not only to grow them or find them in the forest, but also to properly assemble them. Homemade gadgets and relatively simple tricks are excellent in this.

The ripeness of strawberries most often occurs in mid-June. The exact period depends on how warm the spring and the first summer days will be. But in any case, it is only necessary to appear red berries - you need to quickly pick strawberries. It spoils rapidly from the heat. And in the forest, an additional risk factor is represented by animals and birds, from which they can not shut themselves off, as in a garden, with the help of nets and other devices.

Strawberries are different from garden strawberries in softness, they are very easily crushed. And therefore it is necessary to abandon the use of:

• aluminum and galvanized buckets;
• metal cans;
• glass jars.

All these structures have strong walls, and therefore damage the berry. We'll have to take a small-height tank with a wide bottom. The best tank - to collect both in the field and in the forest - a bowl of transparent material.

Berry picking is the case when the classical solution, developed several centuries ago, is most effective. We are talking about wicker baskets. In them, the berries are ventilated naturally. The temperature on all layers is optimal, which cannot be said about other modes of transportation. Of the more modern options, plastic baking containers are often used.

But in a pure factory form, they are unsuitable. It is necessary to improve the packaging. Its bottom and outer walls will have to provide a large number of holes. Important: do not limit yourself to a single basket, bowl or other container. The more of them with you, the higher the likelihood that whole berries will come not on the table, not crumpled.

The safest method for fruits is to remove them simultaneously with the cups. However, in this case, you will need to additionally clean the strawberries before eating or canning. In order not to condemn yourself to double work, it is advisable to harvest in bunches in the form of peculiar bouquets.

There are some more subtleties:

• it is possible to prolong the safety of berries by collecting them in the morning;
• but you can collect in the evening, as long as the dew has fallen;
• eat the harvest will turn out regardless of the time of day.

You can often find allegations that you can only harvest forest and garden strawberries by hand. There is a grain of truth in this, because it is the manual harvest that is the most gentle for the berries, allowing them to preserve their integrity. But still it is necessary to take care of high productivity, using the tools to collect. In the gardens with a large harvest is very important, because it saves a lot of time. Yes, and when hiking in the forest is also useful, as to find the strawberry fields (and even just get to them), collect everything and return it is necessary in the light of day.

Combines fully ready for work are sold in household and gardening stores, sometimes even in markets. It is worth considering that they may be called differently - berries or fruit extractors. Best of all, if the distance between the teeth is about 0.5-0.6 cm. Then the branches and foliage will pass quietly and remain whole, the berries will be removed completely. And the fruits of strawberries cleaned fully.

The simplest way to prepare a combine for yourself is to cut it out of a plastic bottle. The lower part of the container is cut.
