There are many recipes for making jam from garden strawberries for the winter. But most often they use three methods: ordinary jam, fruit jam and “Five minutes”.For the preparation of jam, strawberries are used, sugar, water and citric acid.

Then pour the jam on the banks, roll, wrap, and allow to cool slowly. The advantage of this method is in the relative speed of cooking a great delicacy.

At the second stage, you will need to bring the syrup to a boil again, boil for 15-20 minutes. Now it can be packaged in banks. This method is justified with a large number of strawberries and a small amount of berries, since the complexity of the process is significantly reduced.

"Five minutes"

If there is no time for a long processing of the berries, then you can do even more simply. We take 1 kg of berries and the same amount of sugar, mix and let it brew for three hours.

Juice with berries in an enamelled container is brought to a boil and cooked over low heat for five minutes, stirring constantly. After the jam is allowed to settle for two hours, at this time the mass cools. Properly cooked dessert should be thick and have a rich color. The advantage of this method is that more vitamins and other beneficial substances are stored.

In syrup

For the preparation of this jam, only the berry, which has dense pulp, is suitable, so you need to sort out the collected strawberries. For one kilogram of berries you will need:

  • kilogram of sugar;
  • one and a half glasses of water;
  • two grams of citric acid, which plays the role of a preservative.

First, prepare the sugar syrup, which should boil on the fire. In it carefully lay out strawberries, bring to a boil and boil for five minutes. It is desirable to remove the foam, although not all housewives do it.

Using a colander, the berries are separated from the juice, which is again brought to a boil, and citric acid is added to it. Turn off the gas, lay out the already boiled berries and leave for a few hours to infuse. Ready jam is spread in banks, if it is cold, then the container should be at room temperature.

Under the "fur coat"
