Apple "Malinovka": description of the variety and cultivation

Apples are among the most affordable fruits in many regions. Today there are a huge variety of varieties bred by breeding methods.Scientists are trying to create as many hybrids as possible, differing in taste, size and other parameters. “Malinovka” is an early summer tree with a thick crown, which will be discussed in our article.

In the description of this variety it is noted that the tree has a spherical crown with raised branches and foliage of dark green color. Shoots have a reddish tide, quite thick, therefore, withstand the harvest. The foliage has notches, large and round. The plant grows small, up to a maximum of five meters.

Fruits are flattened, slightly conical at the top, with bright colors. They are not too large, rather, of medium size and weight - 70-150 g. A ripe fruit may be green with a slight interspersing of yellow. Red stripes evenly distributed on the surface of the skin. It is smooth, small thickness, with a waxy coating.

• Productivity Despite the excellent taste of apples, a large harvest from this tree is not collected. The first apples appear at least in the third year, the plant develops its maximum in fruiting only by the eighth year. About 50 kilograms can be collected from one tree. The more years the tree has, the more often it happens that there are no apples at all. Periods of complete rest and yield alternate.
• Composition. Apples owe their sweet taste to a high sugar content - 9.8%. Fruits contain such a useful component as ascorbic acid: for one hundred grams it is 9.2 g. Pectin is very useful, 12.2% of it is here, and besides, there are P-active substances.
• Frost resistance This indicator is average. In those regions where severe winters are observed, it is necessary to provide the tree with additional protection from the cold.
• Resistance to lesions. If there are adverse conditions outside, the tree easily becomes ill with fruit rot and scab. Especially often it is possible to meet the struck plants in rainy seasons. In addition, Malinovka suffers from:
  • powdery mildew;
  • milky luster;
  • apple moth;
  • moths;
  • green aphids.

To grow a healthy tree, you need to choose the right season for planting. Autumn is considered the most favorable period when there are no leaves on the trees. If a seedling with open roots is purchased, then it is recommended to plant it in the spring, before buds bloom. As a rule, this is the end of March. Trees with closed roots are placed in the ground at the end of September.

The variety is very fond of the sun, so the place for planting should be appropriate. Nearby should not be groundwater, and the gardener should take care of the fertility of the soil and if you need to make before planting top dressing.

A pit about 1 meter deep is dug out a month before planting the seedling. A drainage layer is necessarily constructed below, gravel can be filled up or old branches can be laid. The soil is compacted without fail, watering is immediately carried out. To create favorable conditions for growth, it is necessary to perform the following procedures:

• weeding and loosening the land;
• soil mulching;
• shelter before winter.

Pruning is included in the list of general agronomic works. Spring is produced only if there are favorable conditions for further fruiting. It is a type of pest prevention.

In the autumn, damaged branches are harvested; they do this after harvest, when sap flow stops. The central shoot should not be below the branches, which are the skeleton of a tree. The higher the branches, the shorter they are.

• "Robot colonic" has a main trunk, around which grow shortened formations. The convenience of the absence of branches is that it is easier to harvest from such a plant. In addition, tree care is simplified.
• "Malinovka Riga" It has an unusually sweet fruit flavor. Unlike the usual variety, these fruits are stored for a long time and do not fall from the branches even after full ripening. Apples grow smaller in size, have a wide conical shape and have a reddish tint. Inside the flesh is white, along the contour there is the same red reflux. Ripens in the fall, in the end of September. Among the advantages can be identified not only frost resistance, but also excellent immunity to diseases.

The variety “Malinovka” is ideal for growing in the Moscow region, as it perfectly withstands local climatic conditions. In the middle lane and to the south, the apple tree was distributed to solve industrial problems. It grows there as an ornamental tree.

As for the north-western region, it is characterized by severe cold in winter. In this regard, the frost resistance of the tree, which is able to withstand temperatures up to -15 degrees, is not enough.

Very often you can find Malinovka apple varieties on the territory of Belarus, the Baltic states. There, the apple tree is conquering all new territories without the intervention of gardeners.
