How to feed Victoria during the flowering?
The rich harvest is the main success of the gardener. It is known that the redder and larger the berry, the more minerals and vitamins in it.The most important feature is its rich taste and aroma. Well, in order not to be disappointed in the summer and to harvest a ripe and tasty crop, Victoria strawberries should be fed with vitamins.
Why do you need feed?
Already during flowering, the ovaries begin to feed on all saplings, vitamins and minerals. When forming strawberries, the bush begins to pull out all this from the ground. Given the fact that during the winter, nutrients do not accumulate on their own, Victoria needs them. Therefore, it must be fed, otherwise there will be no ripe and juicy harvest this season.
During flowering and fruiting, the plant needs vitamins. This period is optimal for feeding.
To get a strong and healthy ovary, the bush should be intensively fertilized during the development of the seedling. The plant will gain strength and in full measure will begin to please with its fruits. You need to understand one thing: you should not be too zealous, everything should be in moderation.
When you start to pick berries, you should be more careful with fertilizers and use only natural products that do not need to be placed on the leaves. Otherwise, the whole periodic table will be on your desk.
Folk remedies
What can be better, cleaner and more useful than natural top dressing. In this case, you will know exactly what you feed your seedlings. Plus, it is much more economical than specialized drugs.
As a fertilizer, wood ash or yeast is perfect. For spraying Victoria perfectly infused nettle, bird droppings or mullein.
Wood ash is potash fertilizer. In it, the berry will find a bunch of vitamins. For one square of land, one cup is enough. Ashes can be mixed with the earth, as well as make ash solution and water at the very root. The recipe is very simple: fill the ashes with hot water, in the ratio of 1 cup to 1 liter. Cool, strain and water the rhizomes.
During flowering, twice per season, it is recommended to water the plant with yeast solution. There are two ways to make it.
- A kilogram of pressed yeast is poured with five liters of boiling water. For some time, leave the solution alone so that it can infuse and cool. Next, take a bucket of clean water and pour half a liter of solution into it. After watering the seedlings, taking into account one liter for one seedling.
- One bag of fast yeast is taken and mixed with two large spoons of sugar. All this is filled with warm water, one to one. For two hours, wait for the yeast to dissolve. We add half a liter of yeast to one watering can and we can water the bushes.
Special preparations
On the shelves is a lot of finished products. They are filled with numerous nutrients and not only. Using them, you will have the opportunity to get a large amount of harvest, but without the guarantee of fragrant aroma and taste. Here are a few tools aimed at feeding Victoria:
- Kemira Suite made on the basis of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. It has a granular form. In dry form, is added to the soil at the root;
- Azofoska - the most versatile drug. Suitable for all types of soil and crops;
- "Ryazanochka" - soluble additive, which contains a complete set of trace elements;
- Potassium monophosphate - soluble in water and applied with watering.
Boric acid is considered the most effective and harmless additive. It can be used throughout the season. Boric acid helps to accelerate the process of the ovary and the formation of the fetus. It is useful to fertilize this drug those bushes that grow on acidic soils. It improves the taste and quality of the berries.
Boric acid can be sprayed and watered. Just before this you need to dilute the solution. Below are a few recipes.
- Before you are going to plant Victoria, it should be soaked in boric solution. It is easy to prepare. One liter of hot liquid diluted with 0.2 liters of boric acid.
- As soon as the fruits begin to form, processing is possible for full bloom. Take ten liters of water and ten grams of boric acid. This solution should be sprayed on the leaves, but this should be done in the evening.
- For foliar application, foliage is treated with boric acid during watering, but this is done no more than once every three years.
Fertilizer application rules
Victoria's top dressing depends on how many times and to what ground the berry was transplanted. It is recommended to transplant the berry 1 time in 3-5 years, in early September. If the autumn was hot, then the transplant is carried out in October.
If you decide to repot the bushes in the spring, then along with this procedure, you must fertilize and cultivate the land. This is done so that the rhizomes do not lose nutrients and are able to form flowering. The next portion of vitamins and minerals will be required in the fall and on the blossoming berry, by spraying. It is important to remember that root and extra-root feeding are carried out alternately.
- The first time to feed the plant will need to fall. There will be the elimination of nitrogen, to better stimulate growth.
- The second feeding will be appropriate during the formation of ovaries. Thanks to her, the number of ovaries will increase, and the taste of the fruit will improve.
- The third is carried out in the summer, after the first harvest. In this case, you will take care of the harvest of the next season.
- The fourth is the last. Fertilize should be in the autumn, to recuperate strawberries.
