A variety of grape stands
Growing grapes is impossible without the use of special racks. Without an auxiliary support, the plant becomes helpless, begins to develop poorly. Fortunately, the variety of types of supports for grapes is not limited to one or two variations, and choosing the right option is not difficult.
Purpose
In the wild, the vine grows as it pleases. Most often, the vine clings to trees or relies on other vertical structures available to it, often spreading its branches along the ground. But such an arrangement does not contribute to abundant fruiting, and the berries in these plants do not differ excellent taste.
In conditions when it is necessary to achieve maximum yield, one cannot do without a special rack for climbers. This is the most effective and cost-effective method of distribution of the vine. Durable and reliable frame has all the important characteristics to ensure the normal growth and development of the climbing bush.
Thanks to the support:
- Shoots are evenly distributed on the holder, without interfering with each other;
- the sun's rays capture the entire bush;
- optimal conditions are created for pollination of flowers;
- leaves produce more organic matter, which affects the increase in crop yield;
- clusters ripen faster;
- the vine does not reach the ground, which means that the clusters lying on the ground do not rot;
- improved taste characteristics of ripe fruit;
- bush is ventilated from different sides, thereby reducing the risk of fungal diseases;
- easier to care for the vine and harvest;
- landing space is saved.
Support model
The type of support for the grape bush is selected based on the place of its application, the grape variety allocated to the garden budget gadget, and a number of other equally important factors.
By design, all possible trellis are divided into three types:
- single plane;
- two-plane;
- decorative.
Depending on the model chosen, the support for the grapes can hold one or several bushes on itself at the same time.
If the supports are arranged in a row, you need to remember the important rule - in one row should be planted one variety of culture. It is very difficult to provide proper care to different plants in terms of care, because each variety has its own nuances when grown.
Placing the tapestry, you also can not forget about the right direction. Oriented to the south side. Only with such a plan will sunlight have access to all branches of the plant. If the choice is made in favor of decorative supports, then such frames can additionally decorate a garden plot in the country.
Single Plane Location
The construction of this type is considered the most simple and understandable for independent production even by inexperienced growers. In fact, a single plane holder is two or more pillars with a certain number of horizontal rows of metal wire. If the planting site is located near a residential building or on a protected area, in this case you can use copper wire, which will become for the culture not only a reliable support, but also a source of copper, which has a detrimental effect on the fungal microflora that are harmful to any plant.
For young vines, ornamental creepers and cultivars that form small bushes, a single-plane design is the best option.
Such support for grapes has several varieties.
- With a stretch strong wire.
- With a canopy. From the upper part of the vertical support there is a L-shaped cross member, to which several wires are also attached.
- T-shaped. The height of such a support is not more than 1.5 m. The wire in this model of support is fixed to both its sides - to the vertical, and to the horizontal part.Thanks to this design, the vine can not be hung, since, staying between the rows of the wire, it can independently cling to them.
- Frame for young plants from three years. The boom is mounted on supports, and the grape growth is placed on rows of horizontally stretched wire specially reserved for it.
Two-plane grape stand
Often used by experienced growers who have large plantations of succulent culture under guardianship.
Props with two planes can effortlessly withstand a massive grapevine, and that, in turn, can freely branch and grow. This kind of racks also has several design options.
- Straight lines Visually, these are two planes placed parallel to each other.
- V-shaped. Models with two planes that have a slope inward.
- Y-shaped. A variant with one support, which diverges into two at an angle of 45-60 degrees relative to each other.
Decorative tapestries
These designs are suitable for those varieties of vines that do not need to be covered from the cold in winter, and are presented in a variety of different forms: arches, arbors, bowls, frames. Original solutions also appear in the form of poluarok, pergolas, sheds. However, for some designs need crate for more reliable operation. Also sometimes used mesh, visually it makes the design more attractive. Some craftsmen make supports and wood. The arch with elements of wooden lamellas, laid out with a triangle, herringbone, looks impressive.
You can make decorative metal supports. The easiest way is to install several pillars and a stretched lattice between them. However, it is easier and much faster to tinker from wood. The lack of the latter material is rapid wear, therefore, in order to prolong the service life, wooden products in the places adjoining to the ground are treated with special means that protect the surface from rotting or are installed on concrete bases.
With the help of decorative lanes not only visually decorate the site, but also make a shadow in the right places.
Materials
The holder for grape support can be made from different materials, there are no restrictions in the choice of raw materials for production. On a large scale, racks are made:
- from plastic pipes;
- shaped tube;
- asbestos cement;
- metal pipes;
- galvanized;
- tree.
The most secure and environmentally friendly option, of course, is a tree. The only minus of natural raw materials, and therefore supports from it, is fragility, and after all, with good care, grapes grow for more than ten years. Therefore, if you want props for grapes made of natural wood, it is best to use the most durable wood species. These are oak, chestnut, ash and acacia.
Inelastic and fragile alder and linden, which are subject to rotting, are completely unsuitable for the manufacture of support.
Extraordinary on the land look modern metal supports. They serve much longer than wood, and the preparatory process for their installation is greatly facilitated.
Props for grapes from metal most often produced from iron or galvanized pipes. Before installation of structures made from similar materials, they are painted to prevent the appearance of rust. Popular among gardeners are also racks of asbestos pipes and plastic poles.
