 How to feed the pepper after planting in the ground?

Pepper is one of the most popular garden crops.Many believe that to achieve a good harvest is not so simple, but it is not so - with proper care, even a novice gardener can get a bountiful harvest of juicy and spicy vegetables.

A great influence on the growth and development of plants have a top dressing.

Culture needs

Fertilizers need all the inhabitants of the beds, and peppers are no exception. In order for the vegetable to be pleased with its fruits, it needs to be surrounded with attention and care, and in addition, to make regular dressings.

Signs of nutrient deficiencies are known to everyone: the foliage turns yellow and becomes light green, the stems become thinner and stretched, and the root system develops very poorly. This suggests the need to feed the plant. If you do not pay attention to the signals of the growing bush, the plants begin to wither and even die.

If the peppers on the garden:

  • Yellowness appeared on the leaves, their color became brighter, and the number of flowers that appeared appeared is very small - this may indicate a lack of nitrogen, in which case the infusion of mullein or urea can help the plant.
  • There are specks of yellow-gray tint on the leaf plates, while they themselves curl up - this is a lack of calcium, the plant requires nitrogenous and potash fertilizers.
  • Foliage acquires a reddish or bluish tint - try to bring superphosphate into the ground, the plant is likely to have little phosphorus.

It should be noted that different types of pepper need different types of fertilizers. So, sweet red pepper responds best to rotted cow dung or bird droppings. For the best growth and development of Bulgarian pepper, yeast and ashes are used, exotic chili peppers also prefer ash infusions, but decorative varieties require complex mineral dressings. That is why if fertilization does not improve the condition of the plant, it makes sense to revise the scheme of fertilizing and use other compounds.

Plant nutrition will be even more effective if you prepare the land in which you plan to plant the crop. To do this, it is still digged in the fall with manure or compost from the calculation of 1 bucket per square meter of land.

For normal growth and development, the plant requires the following trace elements:

  • Nitrogen it is required by plants during the active formation of the ovaries, it has the most beneficial effect on the formation of fruits, but an excess of this element can lead to the opposite result - fruiting begins much later. In addition, nitrogen-containing components can increase the resistance of peppers to most diseases of a fungal and bacterial nature.
  • Phosphorus affects the rate of ripening of fruits, and also strengthens the root system and its resistance to garden pests.
  • From potassium depends largely on the type of fruit. Upon receipt of this element in sufficient quantities, the vegetable becomes colorful, bright and "liquid", but if the soil is deficient in potassium, the peppers grow faded and twisted.
  • Magnesium responsible for the green part of the plant, due to which photosynthesis occurs and pepper cells are enriched with oxygen.

Fertilizer types

For peppers use several types of dressings and, accordingly, various types of fertilizers.

Organic

Organic substances significantly improve soil fertility, therefore, any fruit crop responds well to the introduction of such dressings. For pepper fertilizer, you can use:

  • mullein (cow manure) it significantly strengthens the plant immunity, increases its resistance to various diseases and protects against dangerous viral infections;
  • bird droppings - possesses a strong vitamin composition and contains all minerals necessary for growth and development;
  • ash - This is one of the most favorite peppers bait, it is a rich source of potassium, in which the plant has an increased need;
  • horsetail or nettle infusion - these are cheap and affordable options, since these plants can be found everywhere, but they also contain a lot of vitamins B and A, and they also have the necessary amount of calcium;
  • sleeping tea - welding contains a large amount of calcium, as well as sodium, magnesium and iron, which are responsible for the formation of the ovary and the growth of the fruits of pepper;
  • banana peel - this is a real storehouse of potassium, which is especially necessary for plants during the period of growth, so you need to use such dressings at least three times during the growing season;
  • eggshell - contains potassium, phosphorus and magnesium, so its use helps the peppers to fully grow and develop.

Mineral

The main component of the mineral composition for peppers is iodine, which has the most beneficial effects on growing vegetables:

  • significantly increases the yield;
  • increases the content of ascorbic acid in the fruit;
  • improves the appearance, taste and aroma of peppers;
  • affects the size of the products.

Everyone knows that for the full development of the plants need nitrogen, which improves plant immunity and helps to maximize the growth of fruits, and iodine helps to improve its absorption of vegetable crops. Without iodine, the required nitrogen will be absorbed worse and the subcortex will become less effective.

Such fertilizers are usually purchased ready in a specialty store. It is best to use them in liquid form. To date, you can find a variety of compositions and preparations that contain a different set of mineral substances.

Experienced gardeners prefer three types of mixtures:

  • "GUMI Kuznetsova" - a drug with a high content of sodium, potassium, and nitrogen. It not only improves the strength of the plant, but also contributes to increasing its resistance to various adverse environmental factors.
  • "Ideal" - the composition is used for the growth and development of a large and powerful root system, and also affects the immunity to fungal diseases of culture and garden pest attacks.
  • "Orton Micro Fe" - most often used for seedlings, but can also be used for an adult plant, improves photosynthesis and vegetation of the bush.

Comprehensive dressing

Complex feedings can be double or triple depending on the number of components. They can be ready - for example, the composition of "Clean Sheet", and can be made independently.

Experienced gardeners recommend to achieve good fruiting to use the following options for complex feeding based on a bucket of water:

  • infusion of fresh mullein (1 kg) with superphosphate (2 spoons);
  • superphosphate with urea - 2 tbsp. l. dissolved in water;
  • yeast solution (100 g) with sugar (50 g).

In the preparation of such fertilizers, it is important to strictly observe the dosage, since an excess of fertilizers can have the opposite effect and adversely affect the growth and development of fruits.

For peppers foliar dressing is very important, which is a spraying of the ground part of the bush. Due to this effect, peppers get all the required trace elements through the stems and leaves.

How to make?

Fertilizer application for peppers has its own specifics.

Root top dressing, regardless of whether you grow a plant in open ground, under a film or in a greenhouse, is carried out according to the following scheme:

  • fertilizers are applied every 2 weeks after planting;
  • Before feeding, it is necessary to water the plants with lukewarm water to keep the earthen room wet;
  • mineral and organic dressings should be alternated;
  • after applying the fertilizer, the soil should be slightly loosened.

Nitrogen-containing drugs should not be used too often, since in this case the green mass will be bushy and lush, but the fruits themselves will turn out to be rather small and curved.

The first dressing needs organic, and the substrate should not be fresh.

If you plant a plant on a plot fertilized with fresh manure or bird droppings, the fruit will absorb nitrogen from the ground, which can adversely affect the fruit and cause poisoning when it is consumed.

Shortly before the start of the formation of the ovaries, special feeding should be carried out. This will require:

  • water - 100 l;
  • urea - 1 cup;
  • rotted manure - 1 bucket;
  • bird droppings - 2 kg.

All components must be thoroughly mixed and allowed to brew for about 7-10 days. Then fertilize the land so that for each square meter of landings accounted for half a bucket of fertilizer.

When the flowers appear and the ovary begins to form, the pepper especially needs potassium. To do this, you can use ready-made fertilizers, for example, "Carbamide".

In addition, Eco-Minatum, EuroChem, Novalon, or Topers can be used to stimulate the formation of new ovaries. These fertilizers are used in a dry form, pouring about a handful of the preparation under each bush, and then pour it abundantly with warm water.

Many gardeners doubt whether it is worth watering the peppers at the time of fruiting, but this can be done. If you want to achieve the most beautiful presentation of the peppers and accelerate its ripening, experts recommend at this moment to use superphosphate, potassium salt mixed with a small amount of organic additives.

If you want to significantly increase the amount of harvest harvested from each bush, during the opening of its flowers, treat the bush with a solution of ordinary sugar and in water with boric acid from a pharmacy in the ratio of 100 g of sugar, 2 g of boric acid and 1 liter of water. Such a spraying will attract bees and other insects, due to which the active pollination of flowers occurs. This procedure should be repeated once a week.

Gardeners tips

Many gardeners are categorically opposed to the use of any chemistry on their own personal plot. If you belong to this category of vegetable growers, then you better use the folk remedies, the effectiveness of which has been tested for centuries.

Very well stimulates the growth and development of pepper culture the introduction of wood ash - for this it is stirred in water at the rate of 1 tbsp. l 2 liters of hot water. The resulting mixture should be mixed and allowed to stand for a day, after which the solution should be drained and used for watering. Ash is an invaluable source of minerals, and in addition, it helps to maintain the optimum acidity of the soil.

Such an organic additive as an egg shell has proven itself well. To prepare an effective fertilizer, you should take the eggshells 2-3 eggs, wash, dry, pound into flour and insist in 3 liters of water for 3-4 days. During this time, the liquid is absorbed by calcium, magnesium, iron and potassium and will be an excellent fertilizer.

Before use, the resulting concentrate should be diluted with water in a ratio of 1 to 3.

Another great recipe - onion peel tincture. To prepare it, you should take 20 g of husk, pour 5 liters of water and let it brew for one week. Husk gives micronutrients to water, and in addition, disinfects it.

Coffee and tea lovers will like the manufacture of fertilizers from sleeping tea leaves and coffee grounds - such additives enrich the soil with nitrogen and facilitate the flow of oxygen to the roots.

You should not throw out the banana peel either - you can pollinate the earth under a bush with dried and crushed skins, and you can make an infusion from them. In any case, such additives will be excellent sources of potassium, which is very important for the normal formation of the fruits of Bulgarian pepper.

Summer residents with experience everywhere use kitchen waste: stale bread, sour-sour milk products, as well as plant residues of indoor and garden plants.

Weed infusions, which can be found at each site or in a nearby meadow, act very well on plants.This is useful nettle, dandelion leaves, plantain, wood lice or horsetail. The leaves, stems and young shoots of these plants should be finely chopped, cover with warm water and leave to infuse for 5-7 days. A similar composition fertilizes the land so that for each bush accounted for 0.7-1 liter of top dressing.
