Rules of feeding cucumbers bread infusion

Cucumbers in the period of growth and fruiting require frequent and regular feeding.Cucumber fertilizer with bread is a good solution if the gardener wants to do without the use of chemicals, and this will significantly reduce the cost of effort, money and time.

What is good bread?

Top dressing cucumber infusion of bread is effective for plants and safe for humans. Such dressings for cucumbers can be done constantly. This infusion has a lot of advantages.

  • Fruits form the ovary and ripen much faster than with normal fertilizer.
  • Harvest time comes earlier.
  • The number of buds and ovaries grows, the number of barren flowers decreases.
  • The ripened fruits are even, with dense flesh, without voids.
  • Grain infusion promotes reproduction of beneficial mycobacteria in the soil and improves its properties.
  • When making the infusion, substances are synthesized that are a strong stimulator of root growth.
  • Earlier organic material (chicken droppings, grass chopping, manure), when added to the soil fertilizer from bread decomposes faster.
  • Improves plant absorption of nutrients.
  • Weak, thin plants are strengthened and intensively grow.
  • Although the infusion of bread contains yeast, it is better than yeast sourdough itself. Yeast can "pereudobrit" land, with infusion the likelihood of this is reduced.
  • Yeast fertilizer can damage the soil, as live yeast absorbs potassium and calcium. When watering infusion of this does not occur, as the bread passes heat treatment, and it remains only the necessary plant proteins, vitamins, trace elements and carbohydrates.

Most nutrients in black and rye bread, in bread with malt content. But if there is white bread, then it is not scary. Just an infusion in this case is preparing a little longer.

How to cook?

There are several recipes for bread infusion. All of them are simple, and even a novice gardener can cope with the preparation of this fertilizer. The recipes are, in fact, similar, so it’s enough just to give a couple of examples so that you can understand how to make bread sourdough.

First way

Black or rye bread is cut into slices approximately 2 to 3 centimeters. Dried bread crushed hands. If you get white bread or with mold, it will in no way spoil the leaven.

Prepared bread is placed in a ten-liter container, filling it about two-thirds of the total. Soak in warm water and close the lid of a smaller diameter. So that the bread does not pop up and is always covered with liquid, weights are put on top. Then a bucket of sourdough is placed in a warm place away from the living quarters, since an unpleasant odor is emitted during fermentation. After about three days, foam will appear as a result of the fermentation of the fungi. After a week, the formation of foam will stop, and fertilizing will be ready.

This solution is filtered and diluted with water in a ratio of one to three. Water cucumbers at the rate of 0.5-0.7 liters per plant.

Second way

This recipe is also very simple to prepare, but it will need a larger capacity.

In a barrel with a capacity of fifty liters fall asleep cut grass to a third of the volume, add about two kilograms of bread crusts. You can add three to four glasses of wood ash. The resulting mixture should be soaked with warm water and put in a warm place. Top cover or tighten with polyethylene.

After five to seven, the fermentation process will be completed, the resulting liquid is filtered and diluted with water in a ratio of one to five. Fertilizer is ready.

Third way

Bread (one loaf or loaf), put in a container of suitable volume, pour fifteen liters of water and put in a warm place for eight to ten hours. Next, add one vial of iodine to the solution, mix and strain. The finished solution is poured into a convenient container and tightly closed. Store it in a dark cool place.

This infusion is watered on the leaves and stems of the plant, which, in addition to obtaining nutrients, provides protection from diseases and pests.

How to feed?

Cucumbers need to be fed, taking into account certain rules.

Frequency and timing

Under one bush poured about half a liter of infusion. Feeding can be done every ten to twelve days. The infusion begins to make after landing in the ground, when the plant appeared on the fourth or fifth true leaf. With this watering, the next dressing will be with the appearance of flowers, then with the appearance of ovaries and until the end of fruiting. For the entire growing season will get about six feedings.

How to make?

Bread infusion is convenient because they can feed any variety of cucumbers and apply it both on the open ground and in the greenhouse. In order for the fertilizer to bring maximum benefit, it is necessary to choose the right time for watering. Fertilize cucumbers better in the evening, then overnight they take the maximum nutrients. Remember that the earth should be heated to + 18 ... 20 degrees. In a greenhouse, the earth warms up quickly and keeps heat well, so you can not worry too much about the temperature of the earth. And in the open ground it is necessary to track the moment when the earth will be heated and ready for irrigation with fertilizer.

Before making fertilizer bed with cucumbers need to water. The next day, the earth is loosened, so as not to form a crust. You can fertilize both root and foliar ways. In the root mode, the plant is watered under the root. Cucumber is particularly useful foliar dressing in cool weather. After all, when the soil temperature is below fifteen degrees, the nutrients are absorbed much worse. For foliar application, the plant is sprayed with a solution. The smaller the drops remaining on the leaf, the more nutrients the plant will absorb.

When grown in a greenhouse, the plants are watered before the use of the starter, airing the greenhouse two hours later and then fertilizing.

Useful tips

Bread infusion acidifies the soil, so it is advisable to add ash to it, but on acidic soils it is necessary. Effectively with the leaven to make the following nutrients:

  • nitrogen;
  • potassium;
  • phosphorus.

To the soil is not impoverished, it is desirable to make calcium supplements.

Before use, the starter must be drained, the crumb on the garden will be superfluous, and a crust may form.

It must be remembered that during the ripening of fruits cucumbers need enhanced watering. Water them better with warm water to avoid bitterness in ripe cucumbers.

Plants in the shade, water less needed to avoid stagnation of water. In clear, sunny weather, the plants are watered either early in the morning or in the evening, as wet leaves can get burned if sun rays fall on them.

Bread ferment is especially good for alkaline soils, as it has an acid reaction. Use only wood ash for fertilizer. Ash from plastic, rubber and other debris is harmful! Carefully monitor the condition of the plant, an excess of nutrients as badly affects the plants, as well as their lack.

When growing cucumbers there are no trifles. What a greenhouse is made of, what variety is used, the composition of the soil, water, air temperature — everything matters. The main thing is to closely monitor the growth of plants and, if necessary, make adjustments in time.
