Of course, not all of them can argue with chemicals in their effectiveness, but if a disease or pests are detected in time, then grandmother’s secrets are quite effective.

Mealy dew

The fact that this infection settled on cucumbers can be found on the mealy coating on the leaves. If the disease is started, the leaves will turn red and then yellow, and the crop will die. The disease is caused by spores of fungi, wintered in the soil. The trigger for the beginning of the disease is wet cool weather or watering with cold water.

The following folk remedies will help to cope with the scourge:

  • iodine is also used in the amount of 10 ml of a 5% solution per 10 l of water; after a week, repeat the treatment;
  • well helps and the extract of the mullein, which should be diluted with water 1: 3, insist 3 days, strain and pour 3 liters of water;
  • one more remedy: 2 tablespoons of soda and 20 ml of liquid soap are taken for 2 liters of water, while soda can be replaced with ash, but it should be taken more;
  • a garlic infusion helps with powdery mildew - finely chop 30 g of garlic, pour it with a liter of water for 24 hours, and then adjust the volume to 10 liters;
  • It is also advised to try a dark pink solution of potassium permanganate, which need to process cucumbers 3 times.

Spraying of the leaves is carried out in the evening, making sure that the leaves are necessarily moistened from the bottom side, on which the fungus most often settles. Soap is useful to add to any solution to ensure uniform wetting of the leaves. In this case, instead of laundry soap, you can use liquid or dishwashing detergent.

Downy mildew

It differs from the usual one in that the yellow spots of irregular shape appear on the leaves, and the mycelium in the form of a light purple bloom develops on their lower side. This disease often affects plants in greenhouses. It is necessary to immediately stop watering, cut off all infected leaves, and sprinkle the earth with ashes. Spray the plants with a solution of potassium permanganate or soda ash (25 g per 5 liters of hot water), to which 5 g of tar soap are added. Mandatory processing of the underside of the leaves.

Anthracnose

This disease often develops in greenhouse conditions. Brown circles appear on the leaves, framed by a yellow border. A 5% solution of copper sulphate will help to eradicate the disease; after treatment, it is useful to put a mixture of honey, lime and activated carbon on the leaves. In the absence of any of these components, you can do with one or two.

Root rot

Recognize the disease by noticing small cracks at the base of the stem. Treat them immediately with a solution of ash and copper sulphate. If the disease has already developed, the cracks on the stem should be sprinkled with ash, chalk, and preferably crushed activated carbon or a mixture of these components. It can be treated with a mixture prepared from whey diluted with water in a ratio of 1: 10. For 10 liters of the mixture, add 30 drops of iodine and 40 g of soap. The treatment is repeated every 3 days until the symptoms of the disease disappear.

White rot

Develops more often in the greenhouse. On leaves and cucumbers, white flakes of rot appear, like cotton wool. Control measures include manual removal of plaque and treating plants with a solution of potassium permanganate. If the humidity in the greenhouse is high, it is useful for prevention to spray cucumber plants with milk diluted with a ratio of 1: 10 with the addition of soap.

Gray rot

Gray rot is manifested as follows: gray slimy spots appear on the ends of the cucumbers close to the stalk. This solution is not only sprayed on the plants, but also watered to ize the contamination in the soil. Another way: sprayed with iodine solution (10 drops per bucket). You can apply solutions of potassium permanganate or 20 g of tar soap in a bucket of water. The treatment is repeated after 5 days.

Spider mite

This small pest settles on the underside of the leaves and sucks the sap from the plants. You can remove it with garlic solution. Per 1 liter, take 100 g of crushed garlic cloves, let it brew, then bring the volume of the solution to 2 liters and spray it with plants. Another way to combat this pest is to pour finely chopped bitter pepper with enough water to cover the pepper, boil for 1 hour, then dilute the decoction in a ratio of 1: 3. After spraying, it is good to sprinkle the plants with tobacco dust.

Gourd Aphid

This yellow aphid settles on the back of the leaves. To combat it, you need to take 400 g of ash per 10 liters of water, grate 125 g of soap and rub the leaves affected by pests with a sponge. The solution is poured over the soil to scare away the ants.

There are some recipes for treatment solutions, such as:

  • a glass of 9% vinegar in a bucket of water;
  • 3 l of milk and 5 ml of 5% iodine solution per 6 l of water;
  • 60 g of soda per bucket of water;
  • 400 g of celandine insist day in a liter of water, then the solution is boiled and sprayed with plants with undiluted solution;

You can make traps for the bear cubs, pripopav on the garden half-liter jars, in which we pour a little water, while the neck should be at ground level. And also a soap solution is poured into the mink of the bear, prepared at the rate of 125 g of soap per 10 liters of water. If the pest got out, it will have to kill himself.
