Cucumber "Alligator F1": characteristics of the variety and peculiarities of cultivation
The number of varieties of any mass cultivated plants has long been many hundreds.Therefore, it is required to carefully study the guidelines and get acquainted with the peculiarities of each variety. This fully applies to modern types of cucumbers.
Distinctive features of the variety
Cucumber "Alligator F1" was bred by experts of the agricultural company "Zedek" and belongs to the early ripening category. You can count on a large collection about 45 days after the emergence of seedlings. The critical moment is 55 days; if by this time the fruits have not reached commodity ripeness, there is cause for alarm. Judging by the reviews, the variety fruits well in almost any conditions. According to the instructions of the Russian State Register, such plants can be grown under film in:
- Middle Volga;
- localities of the North Caucasus;
- North FD;
- Volgo-Vyatka region;
- northwestern regions of Russia;
- the center of Chernozem region.
The formation of developed bushes branching out on the middle level is noted. Flowering occurs on the female type, from 1 to 3 fruits develop from leaf sinuses. The foliage is painted in dark green tones, Zelentsy are distinguished by the average intensity of the hillocks on the surface. More on them appear fairly short stripes of light tones. Judging by the descriptions, cucumber fruits are similar to elongated cylinders, which grow to 0.4 m with a mass of up to 0.32 kg.
The hybrid form of the plant is capable of 1 square. m to give farmers from 14 to 16 kg of vegetables, subject to full care. The flesh is distinguished by sweetness, and the fruits are consumed mostly fresh, since they are excessively large for salting. Professional agronomists indicate that the "Alligator":
- allows you to count on a large collection;
- bears fruit long;
- resistant to major stress when growing;
- has immunity against cucumber mosaic, olive and powdery mildew;
- suitable for moving over long distances.
Cultivation
Farmers achieve the best results on high quality soils thoroughly illuminated by the sun. It is impossible to use for cultivation of cucumbers of this grade the sites which are exposed to flooding at loss of rainfall or rise of underground waters. By the time of landing, even in a greenhouse, the ground should be thoroughly warm and contain a wide range of essential trace elements. It is often required to loosen the beds, since the root system does not tolerate high density of the soil. The main practice of planting 500x500 mm with the introduction of seeds into the ground at 30-40 mm.
Seed preparation is limited to impregnation with potassium permanganate solution and subsequent drying. On a personal plantation, a crisp vegetable relies on water every 72 hours. In addition to this, it is impossible to do without periodic moistening of the foliage with clean water. Recommended two-fold (during the growing season) feeding urea.
Since the Alligator develops quickly and intensively, regular stakes and stretched ropes can not cope with its retention.
Because you should take care of the formation of the most reliable trellis. To extend the fruit in length helps this placement of the plant, in which the crop will hang. The advantages of the Chinese (by origin) varieties fully justify such difficulties. No wonder in a very short time (less than 10 years), he managed to become one of the most popular types of culture. It is advisable that between the individual bushes remained approximately 0.5 m - this will allow them to obtain the necessary contact with the air.
Additional Information
Sowing seeds for seedlings is justified at least in the third decade of April. At the same time, the earth for them is selected as loose as possible and is subject to disinfection. It is recommended to use pots with peat, they not only provide good nutrition, but also eliminate the destruction of the roots during transplantation. The minimum allowable heating of air for sowing in a greenhouse or in free ground is +15 degrees. Seeds must be covered with soil; additional protection in the open air is provided by plastic film or nonwoven material.
"Alligator" justifies its name not only with an oblong configuration, but also with a great passion for water. If watering is very small, you can get only a very small crop of geometrically irregular shape.
It is recommended to ensure that the water was 2-3 degrees warmer than the land in which the vegetable grows. Water is poured in the morning, in case of drought, watering is carried out daily.
On the 14th day, when seedlings are cultivated or on the 21st day of development of seedlings obtained from seeds, the plants are sprayed with carbamide, which is diluted with 20 g per 10 liters of warm water.
In the initial flowering period, fertilizing with phosphorus and potassium is recommended. A good result is given by the use of superphosphate, which is injected per 30 g of liquid per 10 liters. As soon as fruiting begins, nitrogen fertilizers and urea solution are urgently needed (its dosage does not change). Adherents of natural agriculture can be safely applied (also dosed):
- litter chickens;
- ash (fill the need for nitrogen);
- bone meal and herbal infusion (correct potassium and phosphorus deficiency).
