Beta-carotene, also belonging to the group of carotinoids, is equivalent to vitamin A, but in addition to everything it also has antioxidant properties, which helps to prevent premature aging of the cells and tissues of the body.

Sea buckthorn has another valuable property - it contains a fairly large amount of vitamin C (ascorbic acid), which stimulates the acceleration of redox reactions and accelerates the regenerative ability of tissues. Due to the high blood concentration of vitamin C, the iron entering the body is much better and more digestible, and in addition, the vessels and the capillary network are strengthened: their fragility and vascular wall permeability are reduced, and its elasticity is increased.

Medicinal properties

A gynecological disease, called cervical erosion, is damage to the integrity of the epithelial layer that lines the cervix in the area of the external os. It is detected when viewed on special gynecological mirrors and looks like bright red patches of uneven shape. The cause of this disease can serve as inflammation of the female reproductive system, trauma, viral pathology (herpes or papilloma), hormonal disorders in the body.

Due to the fact that some gynecological pathologies, such as dysplasia, erosion, and sometimes oncology, can be asymptomatic for a long time, they are detected when examined by a gynecologist or with bloody discharge or bleeding that can cause regular sexual intercourse.

With cervical erosion, there is a danger of malignant degeneration of epithelial cells, in other words, it is a risk of cancer. During a colposcopy, when an erosion is detected, the doctor suggests a woman to take a biopsy - a small piece of tissue for examination under a microscope. Some women due to the fact that erosion is asymptomatic, are often against taking a biopsy, and also ignore the recommendations of the doctor and do not pay enough attention to the existing problem.

Timely detection of the onset of cell degeneration of erosion and the adoption of measures to treat this condition help prevent the development of the disease and eliminate the threat to life.

Modern medicine offers a variety of methods for treating cervical erosion: the method of cryodestruction, laser coagulation, using cauterization with electric current or radiowave method, as well as using coagulation by chemical means. The essence of these effects is cauterization of the affected area so that a scar of connective tissue forms in its place.

The definition of tactics and methods of treatment occurs depending on the degree of development of the pathological process. One of the most benign treatments is the use of sea buckthorn oil swabs. This medicine helps with small fresh erosions provided regular and correct use.

The application of sea buckthorn oil to the erosion area allows to accelerate the processes of granulation formation, with the help of which the damaged epithelium layers are healing. It is noteworthy that erosion is difficult to topical treatment, but sea buckthorn oil, having a bacteriostatic, anti-inflammatory and wound-healing effect, does an excellent job with its tasks.

The rather high bioactive ability of sea buckthorn not only improves, but also accelerates the processes of scarring of eroded tissue. For treatment, the oil does not require any special preparation or sterilization, it should be applied directly in the lesion of the tissue, externally.

Application Methods

Reviews of specialists in the field of gynecology suggest that the treatment with sea buckthorn oil has good efficacy and is absolutely safe. You can use this tool even during pregnancy, if there are valid reasons and grounds.

It is best to apply sea buckthorn oil to treat cervical erosion according to the instructions.

  • In order for the drug to be fully in contact with the affected surface, it is necessary to carry out a hygienic procedure, which consists in freeing the vagina from mucus and secretions. Vaginal douching with a warm extract of medicinal herbs will help to cope with this at home. Most often, for this purpose, decoctions from the pharmaceutical chamomile, celandine are used, or a boron uterus is used.To prepare such an infusion, you need to brew one tablespoon of herbs with a glass of hot boiled water, let the mixture stand and strain. Once the solution is ready, you can perform a douching procedure.
  • The next step will be the preparation of the tampon, which will be inserted into the vagina. To do this, take a piece of gauze or a gauze bandage with a width of 20–25 cm, cut off a piece of it to make an equilateral square. In its middle you need to place a ball of cotton so that the diameter of the tampon was 3-4 cm. To form a tampon, the corners of the gauze square are tied (this can be done with a strong thread). Then the tampon is abundantly soaked with sea buckthorn oil and inserted into the vagina, where it is left for a day.
  • Every day (every 24 hours) the tampon must be removed and replaced with a new one. Treatment should be carried out regularly, without missing a single day for 15 days. By the end of the course, bleeding significantly decreases or goes away altogether. However, to determine how effectively cured erosion, you can only see a doctor. The degree of epithelialization in each person occurs with a different intensity, and if necessary, the treatment can be repeated.

Tampons are best prepared in advance. For the entire course of treatment they will need 15 pieces. And the solution for douching you will need to prepare every day, fresh and warm. Please note that you can use only boiled water for douching.

In addition to the treatment of erosion, oil from the fruits of sea buckthorn can be used for the treatment of gynecological diseases such as candidiasis, cervicitis, colpitis, vaginitis and even endometritis. The list of these pathological processes is intractable diseases, therefore, along with medical preparations, the gynecologist also prescribe local therapy with sea buckthorn oil. In gynecology, sea buckthorn oil can be used in the form of vaginal suppositories or a solution for local use.

Attention should be paid to the time that the oil from the fruits of sea buckthorn is quite liquid and easily flows out of the genital tract, dyeing clothes and linen. Therefore, during therapy, it is necessary to take into account this circumstance and use additional personal hygiene protection means.

Before using with the medical purpose of sea buckthorn oil intravaginally make sure that you do not have an allergic reaction to it. To do this, before starting the procedure, drip a few drops of oil on your wrist, rub them on the skin and watch the skin reaction for an hour.

If you have redness, itching, swelling, oil, you should immediately wash it under running water and take antiallergic drugs. In this case, the use of sea buckthorn for the treatment of erosion is contraindicated to you. If you didn’t find the indicated symptoms, it means that you do not have an allergic reaction, and you can safely use the remedy.

Contraindications

Oil prepared from the fruits of sea buckthorn, as a rule, is well tolerated by the body when applied topically. However, in some people it can cause an allergic reaction or burning sensation. Perhaps this is the only harm this drug can do if taken externally.

In gynecology, the use of sea buckthorn oil for therapeutic purposes is advisable to carry out after the end of menstruation - the practice of application proves that this way the drug will work more efficiently. In the case when a woman has bleeding of unknown etiology, experts recommend refraining from using sea buckthorn oil for therapeutic purposes until the causes of this condition are ascertained and their elimination.

Many women who have undergone sea buckthorn oil therapy show positive dynamics in the treatment of cervical erosion and consider this tool as an alternative method, relative to other, less benign and more radical ways of treating this ailment.

However, no matter how effective the remedy is, the choice of treatment methods is best discussed with your doctor and in no case be self-medicating.
