What makes castor oil and what properties does it have?
The well-known castor oil, which many girls used to make their eyelashes and eyebrows thicker, has always been available at any pharmacy. But few people thought about what gives this substance such properties and what it is made of.
What are they getting from?
Castor oil is produced from a plant called castor bean. This plant is medicinal. Manufacturing technology is quite simple, but laborious - oil is produced by cold pressing or pressing. This technique allows to obtain a high-quality product used for medicinal purposes.
Like all oils, castorca has a viscous consistency and a transparent yellowish color. The taste and smell can be unpleasant with an oily aftertaste.
Composition
The composition of castor oil determines what it is useful.
It is obvious that castorca is completely composed of fats. There are only three fat components: ricinoleic fats, oleic acid fats, and linoleic acid fats. Most of the composition is ricinolic acid - almost 80%, the other two acids account for 20%.
Due to this composition, castor oil has the property not to become covered with a film and not to solidify with time at room temperature. She can not change its composition for quite a long time and not deteriorate. This significant factor makes it possible to use castorca as an ingredient for cosmetic and therapeutic purposes.
Application
Castor oil is used in two large areas, as already noted above - this is cosmetology and medicine.
For therapeutic purposes, castor oil is used inside. This oil is an excellent means of cleansing the intestines. It is also used for constipation. Dose for adults - 1 tablespoon after 5 hours after the last meal, for children - 1 teaspoon. It is best to drink oil with fruit juice in order to kill the aftertaste. The effect comes in 5-8 hours. The best result can be achieved if you take the cleaning seriously and follow a cleansing diet a few days before taking castor oil.
Another use of castorca is as a cosmetic. Oddly enough, the best effect of its use is to combat pigment spots on the skin, and not in finding the means to thicken the hair. It is enough to massage the spots themselves with circular motions with the help of this oil for several minutes in the morning and in the evening. After a few weeks, in rare cases - months, you can see the result - the spots become much paler.
In the same way, self-treatment of papillomas and different types of corns can be carried out. Castor oil is even used to treat hemorrhoids. Of course, one cannot say that traditional medicine does not interfere here. This oil can serve as a good supportive and prophylactic treatment.
A special place in the application of castor oil is the effect on the hair. Since the oil is rarely sold in large quantities, it is recommended to mix it with other ingredients, such as kefir and mustard, which does not reduce the effect. Hair from this mixture becomes more healthy, docile, grow faster and even dandruff disappears with regular application. Ciliary and brow hair “activates” castor oil, smoothes the scales on them, so that they look thicker and longer.
