Description of potato variety "Lina"
The importance of such a culture as potatoes, no one needs to explain. But we can not confine those varieties that have been used for many decades. Modern potato “Lina” surpasses earlier models in a number of parameters and deserves close attention.
Special features
This variety belongs to the middle group, well suited as raw material for the manufacture of chips. Taste satisfies connoisseurs completely. A tall bush overgrown with few branching stems with an average concentration of leaves. The leaves themselves - with a matte surface, light green tint. The flowering period is long and it is abundant.
Tubers are formed in the form close to the oval, with smooth yellow skin and white flesh, the weight upon reaching marketable ripeness varies from 0.105 to 0.25 kg. The starch concentration ranges from 11.2 to 18.5%, which is slightly below the species norm. As for diseases, the situation is as follows:
- potato cancer is not dangerous;
- golden nematode can infect a plant;
- tops and tubers are not exposed to the investigated late blight pathogens, but it is impossible to entrust for unknown yet mutated microorganisms;
- sensitivity to ring rot is noted.
Agronomical description of the variety and its handling
Between the emergence of seedlings outside and the achievement of technological ripeness passes from 75 to 85 days. The grade is intended for cultivation in the free earth. The recommended time for sowing is the last spring month. The plan for the introduction of seedlings or seeds is 0.6x0.35 m, the depth of introduction of seeds is 80-100 mm. Experts recommend planting this variety of potatoes to replace:
- winter wheat and rye;
- herbs of a long-term cycle;
- basic annual herbs;
- flax
- legumes;
- lupine (only on sand).
Characteristics of the plant can reduce the departure to the systematic loosening of the soil and the operational destruction of weeds. From 1 square. m., judging by the reviews of gardeners, you can get up to 5 kg of crop. This potato is specially designed for the conditions of Western Siberia, and therefore, in areas with less severe climates, it will give a favorable result.
The number of tubers reaching marketable maturity even in not too comfortable situations is at least 78%, if the weather corresponds to the varietal rate, it rises to 99%. Consumers say that not only the taste of potato “Lina” is pleasant, but also its flavor.
The moment of sowing occurs when, at a depth of 100 mm, the earth warms to at least 6 or 8 degrees Celsius. Seed potatoes taken for planting should be no easier than 30 g and not heavier than 100 g; even slightly deformed tubers cannot be sown. The liming of land on the site being prepared for the landing of “Lina” is carried out two years before the planned season.
When this interval is not maintained, the scab infection is arbitrarily shortened, probably. What is very important for any gardeners and commercial farms, even with a dry summer or a prolonged belt of rain, the plant surely gives decent yields.
Reviews
Potato "Lina", according to many experienced gardeners, is grown not just easy, but with significant benefits. The number of fruits is about the same as that of the highly demanded “Arosa”, but at the same time the presentation is much better. When using potatoes in soups and other boiled dishes, it is almost never boiled soft. There is a powerful germination when using seeds from nurseries. Some farmers manage to get up to 1 bucket of a crop for 1 kg of sown tubers.
Negative reviews are practically not observed, since the potato of this type is one of the most unpretentious. The only negative point - the plant is prone to root rot.
