Czech Braised Cabbage with Honey

This dish has an original taste. It will not only be appropriate as an everyday meal, but will also fit perfectly into the holiday menu. Cabbage cooked in this way will be the perfect complement to pork knuckle. Serve the dish can be hot or cold. The total cooking time for 4 servings will be 45 minutes.

You will need the following products:

  • head of red cabbage of average size;
  • apple with sour - 2 pcs .;
  • bow heads - 1 pc. (if small - several);
  • 9% vinegar (apple, wine) - 45 ml;
  • fine salt - 2 whispers;
  • honey - 4 tsp;
  • paprika - pinch;
  • vegetable oil (with smell) - 45 ml.

For cooking, you will need dishes with a thick bottom, for example, a cauldron. Peel the onions, cut into small cubes. Heat the butter in a frying pan and cover the onion. Fry over moderate heat until golden brown. Cabbage chop strips and put in a pan, mix the ingredients. Simmer over moderate heat for 7 minutes (without a lid).

Peel the apples from the seeds and peel, grate on a fine grater, then send to the cauldron. Add vinegar and leave to stew for 20 minutes. Add salt, honey, mix well and leave to stew in a cauldron for another 20 minutes. 5 minutes before the end of cooking, sprinkle the dish with paprika.

Bavarian Red Cabbage

This recipe involves cooking in a slow cooker. Through the use of this technique, the dish will retain the maximum amount of vitamins, will be very tasty and fragrant. Among the connoisseurs of culinary art, cabbage stewed in German is the most sought after. It is believed that German cooks cook the most delicious cabbage dishes.

For cooking you will need:

  • red cabbage - 1 pc .;
  • goose or pig fat - 2 tbsp. l .;
  • onion - 1 pc .;
  • sour apples - 2 pcs .;
  • sugar - 2 tsp;
  • Table vinegar (apple) - 30 ml;
  • water - 250 ml;
  • flour - 60 g;
  • red wine - 4 tbsp. l .;
  • Lavrushka;
  • salt.

Cabbage should be finely chopped, cut apples and onions into small cubes. Enable the "Frying" mode in the multicooker. Melt the fat, put onions, apples, sprinkle with sugar, fry for 6 minutes. Then add the cabbage straw and vinegar (to preserve the original color of the cabbage). Fry for 6 minutes. Salt, add spices, mix, add a glass of water. Put the slow cooker into extinguishing mode. Leave the vegetables to cook for 45 minutes.

5 minutes before the end of the preparation, mix the flour and wine and add to the rest of the ingredients.

Traditionally, cabbage stewed in a Bavarian style is served with grilled sausages of the same name.

Red cabbage with meat

This recipe will especially appeal to the male half of the population. The meat will give the dish a rich taste and appetizing aroma.

For cooking you will need:

  • pork or veal pulp - 500 g;
  • carrots - 1 pc .;
  • red cabbage - 1 pc .;
  • onions (medium size) - 1 pc .;
  • Bulgarian pepper - 1 pc .;
  • sour cream - 1 tsp;
  • sugar - 50 g;
  • ketchup - 2 tsp;
  • cranberries - a handful;
  • seasoning - to taste.

Wash the meat, cut into cubes and put in a cast-iron pot with a thick bottom (cauldron). Cover with cool water. After boiling, remove the foam, reduce the heat, remove the lid and continue extinguishing. When the water has evaporated, add the vegetable oil and fry the meat. Put sliced ​​onions and carrots in a cauldron. Chop cabbage, add to other vegetables, sprinkle with sugar. Cover the pan with a lid and continue to simmer, stirring regularly.

When vegetables and meat become soft, you can add pepper, cut into strips. Extinguish 1 minute. Pour the ketchup, mix everything carefully. Add salt, spices and sour cream, cover the pan with the lid and leave to stew for 10 minutes. Before the end of cooking, add the cranberries and mix all the ingredients well again. Serve the dish with chopped greens.

Chicken, turkey, goose, and even sea fish can be used as meat.

Red cabbage with beans

This dish will be not only nutritious, but also useful, since vegetables used for cooking contain a large amount of protein, vitamins, fiber, which allows normalizing the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract.

Ingredients:

  • red cabbage - forks;
  • onion heads (small) - 2 pcs .;
  • beans - 200 g;
  • flour - 30 g;
  • margarine - 27 g;
  • ketchup - 2 tbsp. l .;
  • sugar and salt as desired.

Soak the beans, then cook without adding salt (alternatively, use canned product).

Cut the cabbage into small squares, put in a frying pan, pour in some water, add butter, simmer until soft over low heat. As soon as the cabbage is soft, add the beans, fried in the oil-flour mixture, ketchup, onion, salt, sugar. Mix well and leave to stew until tender.

Red cabbage with mushrooms

Cooks recommend using mushrooms from the forest for this dish: fresh or dried. If they are not available, champignons purchased at the supermarket can be a good substitute.

If dried mushrooms are used, it is recommended to soak them in milk for 6 hours before cooking. Fresh mushrooms must be cleaned and boiled for half an hour. In addition to mushrooms (200 g), for cooking you will need:

  • red cabbage - half fork;
  • Bulgarian pepper - 2 pcs .;
  • green peas - 0.5 banks;
  • onions - 1 pc .;
  • black pepper is optional;
  • vegetable oil - 4 tsp;
  • salt, greens - on request.

Cabbage and onions should be finely chopped, fried with peas, mushrooms and pepper. Pour water, season with pepper and salt, leave to stew until soft. Submit with your favorite greens.

Tips

Red cabbage is much harder than the usual white vegetable, respectively, the shredding process should be more thorough and thin. Before you mix the cabbage with other ingredients, it must be cut, put in a separate container, salt and mix.
